Ms. Maureen Appel, President: Ms. Appel, an experienced Washington-area educator, became San Miguel School’s President in July 2019. She has an accomplished thirty-year career in education with twenty years as Head of School for the Connelly School of the Holy Child in Maryland. Ms. Appel’s achievements at Holy Child include major capital improvements and additions to the campus, innovative curricula and a more diverse, energetic student body. In other roles, leading the Academy of Notre Dame, Massachusetts and St. Dominic’s High School, New York, Ms. Appel significantly improved the development, student recruitment and financial management of these schools. As President of San Miguel, Ms. Appel is committed to its mission and to building a strong financial foundation for the school and a sound sustaining source of income for its future.
