Guest Speaker:

Carlos Rivera President, Vysnova Partners, a Culmen International Company 

Mr. Rivera is the Founder, Chairman and President of Vysnova Partners where he provides leadership and day-to-day management of corporate operations. Mr. Rivera has more than 30 years of experience working in the health and information management sectors. Prior to founding Vysnova, Mr. Rivera was the Founder, Chairman and CEO of CAMRIS International, a highly successful management consulting firm primarily focused on global health. Under his leadership, CAMRIS received many industry awards, including making the Inc. Magazine 500/5000 © list twice. In the area of healthcare information systems, Mr. Rivera has a strong background in the development of requirements, contracting, implementation and evaluation of health sector technology projects. His work has focused on enhancing modern management techniques by designing and implementing technology tools. He has participated in major assessments, evaluations, project implementation and strategic planning activities for USAID, World Bank, foreign government, U.S. military, foreign military and private sector customers. Mr. Rivera also completed a successful career with the U.S. Navy as an Information Systems Officer. Mr. Rivera has provided consulting expertise across a broad range of project areas such as cloud computing, telecommunications in austere environments and complex system integration projects on behalf of diverse clients such as USAID, foreign governments, the Navy Medical Department, Georgetown University, Howard University, University of Virginia, National Children’s Hospital and the Veterans Administration. Mr. Rivera holds a degree in Healthcare Administration from Southern Illinois University. Additionally, he has completed graduate level courses in supply chain management at Dartmouth University’s Tuck School of Business and courses in information systems project management at the Department of Defense. He serves on the executive committee for the Small Business Association for International Companies (SBAIC) and as a formal mentor and advisor to multiple small companies. Mr. Rivera was named a 2017 Minority Business Leader by the Washington Business Journal.
