Bio:
James McKenna, MBA, PCC, is a certified executive coach 1 for healthcare leaders, clinical teams, C-suites and Boards of Trustees. With more than 25 years of experience, he has advised over 200 hospitals, health systems and organizations worldwide and helped thousands of individuals maximize personal and organizational performance while enhancing the wellness of their teams.
For the last decade, James has had the pleasure to serve as faculty with the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM), the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and other medical societies at various levels (e.g. early career, fellows, mid/late-career, boards of trustees) and topics (e.g. executive coaching, leadership development, women physician leaders, teamwork, career development; wellness and more).
James has worked closely with and advised physician leadership teams at Mass. General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins, Mount Sinai and many others. As Director of Leadership Development at The Advisory Board Company, he led seminars for over 5,000 executives, physicians and nurses to assist teams in expanding leadership capacity, improving clinical quality/safety, enhancing patient/staff satisfaction and wellness, reducing costs and increasing revenue.
James’ global curiosity about people and cultures has led to adventures in over 30 countries. He has lived in New York, Paris, Munich, Nairobi, Phoenix, San Francisco and Dakar, Senegal.
